APS5/APS6 Procurement Officer (NV1 clearance required)

Allygroup is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer (APS5/APS6-equivalent) to join a high-performing government team supporting procurement and contract management activities within a complex operational environment.

This engagement is offered for an initial 12-month term commencing in October 2026, with a further 12-month extension option.

In this role, you will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to deliver procurement outcomes, manage contracts, provide advice, and ensure compliance with Commonwealth procurement frameworks. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional looking to contribute to meaningful government outcomes while working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Please note: Candidates must be Canberra-based and hold a current NV1 security clearance.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end procurement and contract administration activities in accordance with Commonwealth requirements

  • Prepare procurement documentation, including approvals, evaluation reports, and contract-related documentation

  • Support tender and sourcing activities through AusTender and other procurement systems

  • Administer contracts, including variations, extensions, renewals, and supplier performance monitoring

  • Create and manage contracts and purchase orders within SAP or similar systems

  • Provide advice on procurement, contract management, and compliance requirements

  • Maintain accurate procurement records, reporting, and governance documentation

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and suppliers to support successful procurement outcomes

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and broader team objectives

About you

You will bring:

  • Four years' minimum experience in procurement and contract management within the Australian Government

  • Strong knowledge of Commonwealth procurement frameworks, including the PGPA Act and Commonwealth Procurement Rules

  • Experience supporting procurement processes, tender activities, and contract administration

  • Proficiency in SAP or similar procurement and financial management systems

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply sound judgement

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes with limited supervision

  • A current NV1 security clearance, with the ability to maintain it throughout the engagement
