EOI - Paralegal (Baseline clearance and above)
Allygroup is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from experienced paralegals, particularly those who hold a security clearance, to support legal work across a range of Commonwealth departments and government agencies.
We are building a talent pool of high‑calibre individuals to contribute to a variety of government legal and administrative functions. Short‑term and long‑term secondments across government legal teams and agencies
Different engagement types from secondment to S26 transfer
Roles supporting a variety of public sector functions, including legal, policy, and regulatory work
Project‑based, task‑focused, or ongoing engagements
Hybrid, remote, or on‑site arrangements, depending on agency requirements
Roles requiring a current Australian Government security clearance (Baseline and above)
What we’re looking for:
We are seeking administrative professionals and paralegals with experience in one or more of the following areas:
Providing high‑level administrative and operational support within legal or policy environments
Managing and monitoring the inbox, ensuring enquiries and requests are actioned promptly and allocated appropriately
Reviewing and analysing relevant legislation, case law, tribunal decisions, and guidance materials
Preparing concise summaries of legal authorities and emerging issues to support legal decision-making and advice provided by the team
Managing secure and sensitive documentation, records, and information
Assisting with workflows, scheduling, brief preparation, and team coordination
Supporting legal processes, regulatory activities, reviews, or administrative decision‑making
Conducting research, data handling, quality assurance, or compliance‑related work
Experience within the Commonwealth, APS, or other government environments (highly regarded)
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential or classified information with discretion
About you
You may be:
An experienced administrative or paralegal professional with government or legal sector experience
Strong organisational and administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work proactively with minimal supervision
Experience with records management, legal matter management systems, or similar databases (such as LEX)
Interested in meaningful work supporting a major national inquiry
Looking for flexible, full‑time, part‑time, or contract opportunities
Comfortable working in sensitive or fast‑paced environments
Detail‑oriented, organised, and able to manage competing priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Skilled in handling highly confidential material and following secure processes
