Allygroup is seeking an experienced commercial lawyer for a 12-month secondment, commencing in February 2026, with options for two six-month extensions. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to nationally significant work within a high-profile federal government agency.
This secondment is Canberra-based, and candidates must hold a Positive Vetting (TSPV) clearance to be considered.
In this role, you will:
provide strategic, high-level legal advice on complex commercial matters
review and quality assure advice prepared by junior legal officers
advise on legal issues tied to sensitive national security projects
work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver practical, solutions-focused advice
Required expertise includes:
negotiating and drafting complex commercial agreements
advising on contractual rights and obligations under deeds and agreements
managing commercial procurement processes, including government panel arrangements
handling commercial disputes
intellectual property law
