Position overview
Allygroup is seeking a highly skilled Senior Lawyer to support a high-profile government client in delivering expert legal advice across privacy law, governance, and administrative law. This initial six-month secondment offers the potential for two further 12-month extensions.
This is a rare opportunity to contribute meaningfully to legal and regulatory reform, provide strategic legal counsel, and assist in proceedings before the Administrative Review Tribunal. The successful candidate may also be involved in legislative development and policy initiatives.
Location and security requirements
Applicants must be based in Canberra and hold a minimum NV1 security clearance. The position is offered on a full-time basis; however, flexible working arrangements (including part-time and remote work) may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Key responsibilities
Provide expert advice on privacy law compliance and governance frameworks
Support the implementation of regulatory and legislative reforms
Deliver high-level administrative law advice, including decision-making and litigation support
Assist in proceedings before the Administrative Review Tribunal
Conduct legal research and contribute to legislative drafting and development
