Position overview
Allygroup is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented junior and graduate lawyers to join a high-profile federal government agency for an initial three-month secondment, with the possibility of further extensions. In this role, you will play a crucial part in investigating and resolving complaints, ensuring procedural fairness, and maintaining the integrity of government processes.
This opportunity is available for candidates based in Canberra, though interstate applicants will also be considered. Candidates must hold a Baseline security clearance or above and be available to work on a full-time basis to be considered.
Some of the key duties include:
drafting procedural fairness correspondence and incorporating responses into investigation reports
collaborating with staff regarding relevant departmental records and policies
providing regular updates to senior staff and interested parties
assisting in drafting outcome correspondence
participating in regular meetings to discuss relevant matters

strong investigative and analytical skills
excellent communication and organisational abilities
highly developed writing, research and analytical skills
ability to interpret, apply and evaluate legislation, regulations and other policy guidelines
ability to work independently and as part of a team
ability to manage a full-time caseload and work under pressure to complete casework within expected timeframes
