Allygroup is seeking a senior legal or policy professional, ideally with employment law experience, to support the HR Policy team of a federal government client. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the implementation of key recommendations aimed at enhancing procurement processes and governance frameworks.
This role involves high-level policy development and stakeholder engagement to strengthen internal governance arrangements. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping policies that promote integrity, transparency and accountability across the agency.
This position is open to all locations around Australia. The initial contract term will be until 23 December 2025, with the possibility of extension for up to three additional months.
Key responsibilities
Policy Development: Draft amendments to internal policies relating to conflicts of interest and the acceptance of gifts, benefits, and hospitality, ensuring alignment with best practice and improved governance outcomes.
Stakeholder Coordination: Lead a cross-divisional working group including representatives from the Wellbeing and HR Support Division, CFO Division and other key stakeholders to facilitate collaborative policy development and secure endorsement from relevant policy owners.
Assurance Framework Design: Work closely with the CFO Division to design an assurance framework that evaluates compliance with conflict of interest requirements and assesses the effectiveness of current arrangements for both employees and contractors.
Governance and Reporting: Ensure the framework includes clear objectives, defined assurance activities, timelines, responsibilities, and robust governance and reporting mechanisms.
Briefing Preparation: Prepare high-quality briefing materials to support the endorsement and implementation of proposed policy updates and the assurance framework.
