Allygroup is seeking experienced paralegals to join a federal government agency. This is an opportunity to gain experience in professional services and create long-lasting contacts in a government agency. The position is in a fast-paced and exciting environment dealing with numerous complex pieces of legislation. Candidates will be assisting in the department's legislative branch.
This is a 6-month secondment opportunity with the possibility of 12-month extensions.
Travel may be required but will be subject to mutual agreement on a case-by-case basis.
Candidates must be based in Canberra and be available at least 4 days per week.
Candidates must also hold a baseline clearance.
Duties and responsibilities involve the management of:
subpoena and notices to produce on behalf of the Department
locating materials
responding to court orders
reviewing and redacting documents
producing documents for court, which have been reviewed and signed off by the lawyers
assessing scope of materials produced, to ensure compliance
other paralegal and administrative tasks falling within the remit General Council - Dispute resolution and litigation.

Ideal candidates will be completing a law degree or possess relevant knowledge and skills.
