Jan is a sought-after expert in strategy and planning, business transformation and complex resource, asset and stakeholder management. She has been delivering better outcomes through astute project management across the government, private and not-for-profit sectors for over 30 years.

Jan has held high-profile chief executive positions within NSW Government, overseeing multi-billion-dollar budgets, managing complex and controversial portfolio issues and providing direction for a huge proportion of the State’s public servants over the course of 20 years. Her roles have included Director General of the NSW Department of Education and Training and Managing Director of Technical and Further Education NSW (TAFENSW), Acting Deputy Secretary of the NSW Department of Health and NSW Commissioner for Children and Young People.

As a management consultant, Jan has provided advice and guidance on complex and high-risk matters, including: conducting strategic reviews on the national code of banking practice, regulation of credit reporting, mine safety, medical and police education and training, the operations and structure of the Coroners Court, public sector recruitment, business transformation and the operations and structure of major government departments.

Jan is a valued member of many boards and committees across a range of sectors, covering issues such as governance, audit, risk, remuneration, nominations, infrastructure and environment. She is currently sitting as Chair of NSW Businesslink Pty Ltd, the Professional Practice Review Committee Consumer, Tenancy and Trader Tribunal (CTTT) and Epilepsy Action Australia.
