Sara Ryan

Consultant

Sara has had extensive experience in both government and private law. She was admitted as a barrister in 2001 after completing honours law and social science degrees in Queensland.  She has a special interest in administrative law and litigation involving the Commonwealth. She is also interested in contemporary health law issues and the differing nature of employment relationships in the modern environment of globalisation and contracting. Sara has worked in many senior roles throughout government primarily advising on law enforcement, national security policy and legislation and international law. She has worked in many advisory roles and given legal and policy advice to a range of ministers and high ranking senior public servants.  She best enjoys the interface between giving legal and policy advice in the context of understanding the role of the public service and the function of a government lawyer.

She has a personal interest in humanities,  a number of charitable causes, supporting resilience in the workplace and seeing  colleagues do well by being given access to a range of meaningful work.

Sara enjoys mentoring and providing support to junior colleagues and is supportive and collegiate in her approach.  She is looking forward to working with clients as both a resource in-house and a contact within Allygroup to cement productive and long standing relationships.
